Thurston Jenkins and the Professor O'Ignance are the forefathers of a genre known as SUBURBAN POWER ELECTRONICS. The label is misleading, however, because TJ and the POI (as they don't hate being called) are among the MOST EXTREME artists working today. They were considered by William Bennett when he formed his "ultra" version of Whitehouse in the early 1980's, but he was TOO AFRAID to be alone with them. They are shunned by their contemporaries such as Genocide Organ and Con-Dom because of their extreme POLITICAL INCORRECTNESS.
TJ and the POI have never actually been photographed, and all of their early material (dating from the 1970's) has been banned and destroyed by governments across the world. They reemerged in the late 1990's working in total anonymity (well, other than using their names), and have attempted to subvert the system by using aliases and the images of two stupid teenagers (at the time) on their CDs and extremely limited videos. Make no mistake, the two individuals you see on the albums and performances are NOT TJ and the POI, just two kids who agreed to appear out of FEAR OF DEATH.
The duo are constantly on the run across the country, so collaboration time is very limited. Once the two are in the same room, however, a recording is inevitable and is promptly shipped via courier to 2FMP for release, because they are TOO SCARED NOT TO RELEASE THEM.
The full discography from 1998 and 1999, including the video, is
available within the Legacy of Stupidity
box set. Recent releases including The
Toothless One Speaketh (2000), Leehtihs
(2001), and The Wedding Album
(2002) are available as separate releases.
