Live sessions recorded late December 28th and early December 29th,
2001, these recordings once again diverge from the Power Electronics
sound set out in the early releases and last year’s The Toothless
One Speaketh. Three long tracks of rhythmic synth pop noise and
seven short tracks of minimal music and improvised lyrics. TJ and
the Professor’s most ambitious work to date.

The often delayed definitive anthology of Thurston Jenkins’ recorded output and the early days of the 2FMP label. One of the pioneers of laptop noise, TJ created his own unique take on noise and power electronics that was a direct opposition to many others in the genre.

Disc one consists of the "best of" the TJ tapes released between 1997 and 1999, all from the original digital masters. Disc two features remixes by C. Dunton and the White Viper Sound System, unused compilation tracks, the What He Didn’t Do promo EP, and the earliest tracks from mid-1997 (the legendary "Bathroom Sessions").

Presented in a double DVD box with liner notes and full color artwork.

Zira is the solo noise-pop project of Ed Artigas, who has been a fixture in the Miami underground scene for years. He’s been a member of Map of the Universe, the Dayseeds, and also the head of Spy-Fi Records. All Wrong Hubbard Telescope captures his restless energy and love of meshing fuzzed out noise with catchy pop songs, continuing the shoegaze sound of the early 90s into the present day, reinventing the sound and not simply focusing on nostalgia. Noisy textural guitars and underlying drum loops come together like a loving tribute to the MBV “Instrumental 1+2” single from Isn’t Anything.

Lolly was born in a barn in Kansas. The exact date is unknown, and much of his past is shrouded in mystery. Rumor has it that he was an early roadie for Hawkwind as they were beginning their space journey. Others place him in Germany at this time, jamming with Can in marathon sessions but never appearing on an album. His earliest works purportedly begin in the late 1970s, in which he developed a sound that would later be adopted as post-punk, but never allowed anyone to hear those primal tapes. There are also stories that, during a short stint of living in Scotland in the early 1980s, a young pair of brothers named Reid heard him jamming on feedback in his garage and got an idea of their own*. The Sum represents his first public release, allowing adventurous listeners to enter his secret world. The release draws heavily from the lush 4AD sound and just a hint of early goth, with drum machines swathed in reverb, some tracks featuring treated female vocals that mesh into a lovely miasma of wordless beauty. Like a lost Factory band, echoing guitar and bass mesh with raw guitar noise, molded into delicate pop moments.
